The dream was to be paid to travel the world. I was 21, in Ghana at the time, when I made the promise to myself. To photograph and explore distant lands. To capture moments in new cultures. Idyllic landscapes. That opportunity now humbles me. I was recently sent to Sri Lanka to capture the life of the distant, capsule island—in the shape of a water drop—off the coast of India. And what an adventure.
These photographs will show a story of a deep culture, remarkable landscapes, fun-loving, curious locals, rich food, and a deep cut of paradise. From the mountainous, tea leaf plantations of Nuwara Eliya to the post-card-ready-palm-tree-lined beaches of Unawatuna to the hustling streets of the capital, Colombo—Sri Lanka has it all. A big thank you to Intrepid Travel, and special shoutout to Mikey Sadowski ✌️ for sending me. Let’s keep telling stories. It was an honour to meet and capture the experience with a cast of delightful, adventure-seekers from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, America and Ireland. You’re all rad. Keep exploring. Nice.
STUNNING WORK. And I congratulate you on living out your dream. It’s inspiring!
It’s all about chasing those dreams, for real though, not like wishy-washy Hollywood dreams. Actually doing it. All the best.
Awesome travel images! It gives me hope I might also achieve my dream of being paid to shoot distant lands. Best of luck as you continue on your path!
Cheers, thank you, Alyce!
